In her sad clown, Susanne Haun depicts two existential states of human emotional life: sadness and happiness. She covers the pure colors of the painting in several layers with pastel shades that are created from white and the still wet ink. If the clown acts happy in front of his audience, he is filled with great sadness in his private space, which is not only expressed in his tear-soaked face: the entire painting is crying. Haun deliberately places the trickles of color. The combination of acrylic and ink creates a rich color tone on the canvas. The layered application of color is particularly evident in the words "That stays" and "that comes away".
Susanne Haun uses acrylic paints from Schmincke.
The edge of the painted canvas is generously sized, the picture can be stretched on a stretcher frame with a depth of up to 5 cm.
