Sometimes Susanne Haun manages to observe the flora and fauna of the untouched mountains. Marmots are also called Munggen in Switzerland, and Mankei in Upper Bavaria and neighboring Salzburg. The funny 30 - 60 cm tall fellows like to show themselves from a distance and are unfortunately very shy. To observe their faces and movements you need binoculars or a camera with a good lens.

In contrast to the real brown color of the animals, Susanne Haun chose indigo-colored (lightfast ink) for her depiction. She likes to observe animals and often discovers how human the creatures are and gives them personal characteristics in her drawings, as is the case here with the marmots, which are vaguely reminiscent of the three monkeys.

Susanne Haun uses high-quality watercolor cardboard from Hahnemühle and lightfast antique ink from Rohrer for her work.

The work is framed under glass with a white wooden frame and passepartout in the size 50 x 40 cm.
