Susanne Haun draws what she sees and yet, as in the case of the freesias, it is also a look inside that makes the line appear so dynamic. The freesias shown here were a find of the day as a model. In most grocery stores, the sadly packaged flowers in ugly plastic foil are at the front of the train. Haun saved the freesias from wilting by buying them and turning them into a model.
The freesia with its many buds primarily represents tenderness. Whoever gives it as a gift, here in the drawing as an eternally blooming one for the beloved, is paying it a romantic compliment that says that the other person is valued and respected.
Susanne Haun used high-quality watercolor cardboard from Hahnemühle, Burgundy, 250 g/m², matt, cold pressed and lightfast antique ink from Rohrer for her work.
The work is framed under glass with a white wooden frame and passepartout in the size 40 x 50 cm. The frame has a depth of 2.5 cm.
