Christmas roses bloom in winter and delight hearts at Christmas time, when the garden is otherwise covered in grey, misty haze. Susanne Haun interprets the white flowers, which look like snow, anew every year. It is important to her to work with the white of the paper. The flowers get their vibrancy from the lines that Haun draws with the pen and ink barrel. The dark, lotus green background reinforces the white of the individual flowers. Even when the Christmas season is over, the white flower shines from the wall.
The flower is drawn on Hahnemühle Burgundy watercolor cardboard, 250g/m², with Rohrer antique ink.
The flower comes in a 50 x 40 cm white wooden frame.
