A chimera is understood to be a mirage, a figment of the imagination or an empty delusion. In Greece, the story of a fire-breathing monster, the chimera, originated. The middle part of the body resembles one. In her painting, Susanne Haun gives the chimera the shape of a lion, a goat, a dragon and a ram. The chimera fights with strength against the cunning of the two snakes. Haun is fascinated by the histories of the individual countries. This painting consists of several layers, which are built up in a glaze and partially shine through under the top layer that creates the image.
Haun uses light beige and white acrylic paint as well as yellow, red and indigo colored inks.
