Susanne Haun is inspired by Dürer's star map. With his woodcut, Dürer created the first printed star maps ever. On this star map, he combined the knowledge of late antiquity with that of Arabic science. The illustration of the northern starry sky shows twelve signs of the zodiac in twelve circular segments.
Susanne Haun found sepia-colored ink to be appropriate for the zodiac sign Gemini. Haun's twins seem to be looking at each other, the gaze of one taking in the gaze of the other. Do you think the same? Do the two faces symbolize the two sides that a person can have?
In the lower part of the picture the symbol of the zodiac sign and characteristics of Gemini is calligraphed.
Haun uses high-quality watercolor cardboard from Hahnemühle and lightfast ink from Rohrer.
The drawing is framed in a white wooden frame (passepartout) measuring 30 x 30 cm and can be hung up immediately.
