Susanne Haun schätzt den Musiker Tom Waits. Die lyrischen Texte mit seiner außergewöhnlichen Stimme vorgetragen, setzen Stimmungen bei der Künstlerin frei und ermöglichen es ihr Denkprozesse anzustoßen. Der Rhythmus zwingt sie dazu, ihren Körper in Bewegung zu setzen und mitzusingen. Der Film "Coffee and Cigarettes" von Jim Jarmusch, in dem Tom Waits mitspielt, beeindruckte sie genau wie die Stimme des Sängers. Aus diesen Gründen entschloss sich Haun, Tom Waits zu zeichnen. Als Material verwendet Haun lichtechte, wasserfeste Tusche und Aquarellkarton von Hahnemühle.
