The dahlia is one of Susanne Haun's favorite flowers, so it is not surprising that she has planted many dahlias in her garden, which bloom in large numbers. Haun likes to draw them when they are wilting. This is when the lines and the fragility are best revealed. It separates itself from the color, the dahlia is no longer drawn in a delicate pink, but the viewer sees that the color changes to an ochre tone through the process of wilting. To convey its luminosity through drawing, Haun uses yellow ink to set accents. The composition runs diagonally and makes the motif appear like a comet in the sky.
Susanne Haun used lightfast ink from Rohrer and Klinger and Hahnemühle watercolor cardboard.
The drawing is framed behind glass with a white wooden frame and passepartout in the size 30 x 40 cm.
